16/1 Jack hits the mark for Personal Info

After a couple of months of all-round profits, September unleashed something of a storm, which saw Daily Bargain take a battering. The reigning Besttipping champ suffered a 12-point loss, with only two of the month’s 29 selections hitting the target.

But it was a different story for Personal Info, who registered an eighth consecutive month of profit and earned top spot in the September listings with a 2.4-point yield.

And, whilst Daily Bargain found the going tough, stablemate Probets made it four winning months on the run.

Seven of Personal Info’s fourteen race-bets last month featured a winning selection with the Paul and Oliver Cole-trained Jack Darcy leading the way. The juvenile struck on his racecourse debut at Salisbury on 10 September at 11/1, but there was bonus money for those Personal Info’s subscribers who took advantage of the quote of 16/1 that was available early on.

Sharvara, a 9/2 advice, was successful at Hamilton Park on 19 September, while With The Moonlight (7/2 advice) shone brightly at Wolverhampton the following evening. A brace of winning 5/2 selections, one at 6/4 and one at evens completed the seven-timer, while four each-way selections earned place money.

Personal Info are now 18.9 points up for 2021, and are well on the way to recording their best annual return since 2015’s 63.7-point feast.

One of the features of the summer has been the steady progress of Steve Jones’ Probets. In May this service was showing an 18.3-point loss. But successive yields of 4.8 points, 10.1 points, 7.87 points and, most recently, 0.4 points, have propelled Probets into a profit which currently stands at 5 points.

Both of the Steve Jones services have a tendency to get stronger as the month progresses and here was a case in point. The first ten days (9 selections) were winless, but the remaining 19 tips produced six winners, seven seconds and a third. Highlights included 13/2 advice Copper And Five (Redcar, 14 September), Miquelon (9/2, Lingfield, 21 September) and Ascot Adventure, who ensured the month ended on a high with an 11/2 win at Salisbury (30 September).

Personal Info’s Saturday-Only service suffered a rare losing month. However, had either Icee M B A (11/2) or Well Joey (9/1) found a little more at Listowel on 25 September, we would be talking about another profitable return.

And what of Daily Bargain? Haveyoumissedme (5/1, Newcastle, 6 September) and Crema Inglesa (10/1, Sandown, 15 September) were both successful, but a modest profit slipped away with a frustrating sequence of mis-strikes. To others, a 12-point loss would represent a calamity, but Daily Bargain’s resilience is well-known. After a loss of 13 points in January, the next four months earned a 120-point profit; profitable returns in July and August followed a 13-point reverse in June. In other words, don’t be surprised if the next couple of months follow a similar pattern.
