PJA Flat - 2011 Champions

2011-12-31

Congratulations to PJA Flat, who ended 2011 at the head of the Besttipping tipster table with a handsome 155 point profit. For the duration of the turf season, PJA Flat dominated matters, with six profitable months from a possible eight. They led the table from June, and by October had what proved to be an unassailable lead.

With an average SP of 17/2, PJA Flat have always favoured value bets, a policy also pursued by stablemates PJA All Weather and PJA National Hunt, as well. Each month yielded a batch of massive wins, with pride of place belonging to the 26 July Goodwood selection, Arlequin, a 28/1 success. Other spectacular winning selections included 20/1 Granston (Beverley, 14 April), 18/1 Silver Wind (Doncaster, 14 May), and a trio of 16/1 victors: Miami Gator (Carlisle, 22 June), Aegean Destiny (Newcastle, 5 September) and Blazing Field (Bath, 16 October).

In second place in the 2011 table, with an 89.8 point gain came that profit-making machine, Personal Info. The year ended in magnificent fashion with a run of 11 winners from just twelve selections between 17 November and 20 December. The highlight of this marvellous run was Carrietas, a successful 16/1 advice at Musselburgh on 25 November.

Other high spots during 2011 for Personal Info included Style and Panache, another 16/1 advice, at Nottingham on 26 October. There were also three impressive sequences of winners: a haul of nine wins from 11 selections between 3 and 21 March; eight from 12 between 24 August and 14 September; and seven from nine between 20 July and 3 August. The first of these three sequences included a highly profitable Cheltenham Festival when all four selections (Big Bucks, Chicago Grey, Quevega and Hurricane Fly) were all victorious.

The 2011 table toppers, PJA All Weather, had to settle for third spot this time around, albeit with a rewarding 68.7 point yield. Highlights during the last weeks of the year included two winning 16/1 advices, Restless Bay (Wolverhampton 1 December) and Forks (Lingfield, 29 November).

Steve Jones’ Daily Bargain recorded a 20 point gain during the period under review (27 November – 31 December), enough to ensure that 2011 was a profitable year. The Richard Lee-trained Le Beau Bai, a brave winner of the Welsh Grand National, was one of six winners identified by Jones during the final five weeks of action. Four of his other five successes registered SPs ranging from 5s to 6/1.

Gorrie UK also ended the year strongly with 11/2 Taunton victor Grumeti one of three winners from just five selections over the final two days of the year. Quantitativeeasing, the 8/1 winner of the Spinal Research Gold Cup at Cheltenham, was a confident selection on 10 December, one of six wins from eight selections during the course of a lucrative 48-hour period. Overall, Gorrie UK posted a 16.5 point profit in 2011.

Insideoutracing, who finished top of the table in November, enjoyed another strong month, registering an 8.6 point profit. Baby Mix, an 11/1 winning advice at Cheltenham (10 December) and 8/1 Lancaster Gate (Taunton, 20 December) led the way.

Finally, New Year greetings to all. Here’s hoping for a happy, healthy and lucrative 2012!

Great Graphs and Functionality Sign up for free to Besttipping.

Besttipping receive selections from all the tipsters well before the start time of the event. These selections (the same ones they are sending out to their regular subscribers) are later settled against the day's results and entered into the Besttipping database. The result is that we are able to display a complete and accurate (and above all, independently verifiable!) record of how each service is performing over a period of time.

Many tipsters claim impressive track records and in some cases, these results are undoubtedly true. Claims though, are very easy to make and without proper policing and easily understandable analysis it is difficult for the potential customer to subscribe with any real confidence. Besttipping is the only 'Professional' service and is unique in that it offers for free the chance for you to:

  • View results graphically
  • View results by level flat stake (£10, £50 or £100 you decide)
  • View results by points (if the tipster uses this system)
  • View total win value and percentage of winners
  • View results over different periods e.g. 30 days, 90 days, year to date
  • Monitors laying as well as backing services

The importance of long-term subscriptions.

Looking back over the performances of our tipsters since we started collecting data in October 2005, what strikes me most is the incredible consistency shown by the top performers. Not only are the same names who were at the top of our tables in December still at the top, but the amount of profit shown to their clients has increased steadily.

This is not to say though that they will never have negative weeks or even months. In fact they ALL have, and will no doubt have more in the future. The important thing to appreciate when deciding to subscribe to a service is that it has to be a long term investment to be worthwhile. It is true that you may subscribe for a month and be lucky enough to show a huge return, but the consistent and reliable returns are shown over time.

Besttipping is there to identify how tipsters have performed in the past so that you can gauge how they might perform in the future. Having chosen the service you feel offers the best long term value, make a long term commitment and decide on a stake amount which does not overstretch you during the losing periods, while at the same time makes the subscription fee worthwhile.

Best of Luck!!
