Personal Info's November one-two

2021-11-30

The two Personal Info services, Mainline and Saturday-Only showed great resilience last month, forging small profits in what proved to be a trying month for winner-finding. Probets just fell short of joining the profiteers, but the champion-elect, Daily Bargain, suffered a torrid month, recording an 11.50-point loss.

It was Personal Info’s Saturday-Only service that led the way with five race bets yielding three winners: Desert Lime (11/8, Lingfield), Botanist (3/1 sp, Wolverhampton, both 13 November) and Too Friendly (11/8, Newcastle, 27 November). The yield was 1.2 points, taking the yearly tally to 9.2-points.

Personal Info’s Mainline service made in nine winning months out of ten. The one-time Derby hopeful, Too Friendly, scored impressively over hurdles at Newcastle (27 November). The return on the 11/8 advice helped Personal Info to secure a small but welcome profit of 0.48 points.

Too Friendly was Personal Info’s sixth November winner (from 13 race bets) following A Distant Place (4/6, Hereford, 1 November), Aazza (11/1, Hexham, 5 November), Desert Lime (11/8, Lingfield, 13 November), Botanist (3/1, Wolverhampton, 13 November) and Jetoile (4/1, Chepstow, 19 November).

With an annual tally of 17.18 points, Personal Info are within touching distance of taking second place in the 2021 Besttipping Challenge. Currently, Mark Your Card hold that position, but as this Isiris sponsored service is unlikely to return to action any time soon, a decent month would see Personal Info taking the silver medal.

Top Breeze’s disappointing effort at Lingfield on the final day of the month secured Probets’ fate. Instead of a table-topping profit, a loss of 2.175-points was registered – the first losing month since May. The best of the month’s seven winners were 9/2 Internationalangel, who scored at Chelmsford City on 4 November, and 4/1 Beryl The Peril (Wolverhampton, 29 November).

Eleven of Daily Bargain’s 29 selections last month made the first three, but only two edged into the winners’ enclosure. Dubai Souq recorded an 11/2 victory at Redcar on 2 November and Art Approval (10/1 advice, 100/30 sp) was successful at Cheltenham ten days later.

But, if anyone can afford a losing month, it’s Daily Bargain. With a cushion of more than 90-points entering December, it would take something extraordinary to deny the Steve Jones service a fourth Besttipping title.
