Personal Info Play the Principal Role

2011-10-01

With a near 50% strike-rate and a monthly profit of 30.6 points, Personal Info topped the Besttipping leader-board for the five week period which ended on 1 October.

Since November 2007, a 47-month span, this ultra-consistent service has finished with a profit in all bar eight months, a hugely impressive 83% monthly profit strike-rate.

September began strongly with three wins from the first five selections, including Down Royal victor Northgate (4/1, 9 September). The following five day spell brought another three winners from just five selections including 100/30 Slieveardagh (Listowel 12 September), and Principal Role (4/1, Yarmouth, 14 September). In all, September yielded nine winners from just eighteen selections, with the average SP slightly above 5/2.

Pushing Personal Info all the way to the line was PJA All Weather. A reliable source of winners all summer, this month’s harvest was 28.3 points, the service’s strongest showing since April’s 33.4 point gain.

Inevitably there were some mega-prices among PJA All Weather’s winning tips. Wolverhampton winners Aussie Blue (12/1, 1 October), Khajaaly (8/1, 24 September), Polemica (15/2, 9 September) and Green Lightening (7/1, 30 September) all received the PJA seal of approval as did Loyalty, an 11/1 victor at Kempton on 19 September, and Iron Step (8/1, Kempton, 7 September).

Richard Dunwoody also enjoyed a lucrative month with the highlight coming with the victory of the filly Alsindi in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket on 23 September. The Clive Brittain-trained Alsindi was a 5/1 chance. Dunwoody’s haul this month also included winners at 3/1, 100/30 (twice) and 7/2.

For the sixth month in a row, PJA National Hunt posted a profit. Highlights included Crystal Prince, a winning 11/1 advice at Newton Abbot on 20 September, and Haldibari, advised at 9/1 prior to victory at Uttoxeter thirteen days earlier.

Bookies Enemy were on the mark with the 15/2 St Leger winner, Masked Marvel, while Gamblers Reunited scored with the 5/1 Ascot advice, Electra Star (3 September).

Stateos, a successful 8/1 advice at Epsom on 29 August, was the pick of the month for Gorrie UK. Meanwhile, Insideoutracing advised the previously mentioned Alsindi as well as the 8 September Doncaster nursery winner, Elusive Flame, recommended at a juicy 9/1.

With the pace starting to quicken for the jumpers, as the season kicks into top gear, and the pulsating finale to the Flat season, October always proves to be a fascinating month. How this will impact on the Besttipping challenge is anybody’s guess. At the moment PJA Flat lead the way for 2011 with a 143.4 point profit, almost 30 points clear of stable-mate PJA All Weather, with Personal Info well-placed in third.

Great Graphs and Functionality Sign up for free to Besttipping.

Besttipping receive selections from all the tipsters well before the start time of the event. These selections (the same ones they are sending out to their regular subscribers) are later settled against the day's results and entered into the Besttipping database. The result is that we are able to display a complete and accurate (and above all, independently verifiable!) record of how each service is performing over a period of time.

Many tipsters claim impressive track records and in some cases, these results are undoubtedly true. Claims though, are very easy to make and without proper policing and easily understandable analysis it is difficult for the potential customer to subscribe with any real confidence. Besttipping is the only 'Professional' service and is unique in that it offers for free the chance for you to:

  • View results graphically
  • View results by level flat stake (£10, £50 or £100 you decide)
  • View results by points (if the tipster uses this system)
  • View total win value and percentage of winners
  • View results over different periods e.g. 30 days, 90 days, year to date
  • Monitors laying as well as backing services

The importance of long-term subscriptions.

Looking back over the performances of our tipsters since we started collecting data in October 2005, what strikes me most is the incredible consistency shown by the top performers. Not only are the same names who were at the top of our tables in December still at the top, but the amount of profit shown to their clients has increased steadily.

This is not to say though that they will never have negative weeks or even months. In fact they ALL have, and will no doubt have more in the future. The important thing to appreciate when deciding to subscribe to a service is that it has to be a long term investment to be worthwhile. It is true that you may subscribe for a month and be lucky enough to show a huge return, but the consistent and reliable returns are shown over time.

Besttipping is there to identify how tipsters have performed in the past so that you can gauge how they might perform in the future. Having chosen the service you feel offers the best long term value, make a long term commitment and decide on a stake amount which does not overstretch you during the losing periods, while at the same time makes the subscription fee worthwhile.

Best of Luck!!
