Gorrie Cleans Up at Aintree

2011-04-23

It might be early days in the Flat season, but PJA’s turf service, PJA Flat, has already made an impression with a table-topping 34.6 point profit for April. The James Bethell-trained Granston was highlighted on 14 April as a good thing at Beverley. The veteran grey duly obliged by three lengths, and those that heeded PJA Flat’s advice and grabbed the early 20/1 were in celebratory mood.

Other significant contributors to the PJA Flat tally were: Madamily (15/2, Catterick, 30 March), Bonfire Knight (6/1, Doncaster, 2 April) and Doctor Parkes (8/1, 18 April).

Hot on the heels of PJA’s Flat service, was PJA All Weather, who posted a 33.4 point profit, pushing their stablemate all the way to the line. Two days stood out. On 6 April, two Kempton winners, Lord of the Reigns (6/1) and West Leake (8/1) were advised, along with each way selection Eager To Bow (third at 12/1).

Three days later, Lingfield victors Rondean (10/1), Moresweets ‘N Lace (11/2), and Wolves winner Blackstone Vegas (9/2), all received the PJA All Weather stamp of approval, as did Jonny Skull, a 7/1 winner at Southwell on 20 April.

The recent Grand National meeting proved to be spectacularly successful for Gorrie UK. Big Buck’s (4/6) and Topolski (11/2) were winners for Gorrie on the first two days of the meeting. However, they were just a prelude to a hugely profitable Grand National Day. Mersey Novices’ Hurdle winner, Spirit Son (3/1), was advised along with another Nicky Henderson trained winner, Finian’s Rainbow (4/5, Maghull Novices’ Chase).  Even better things were to come, though as 16/1 Grand National advice, Ballabriggs, landed the odds in impressive style.

Having acquired the taste for marathon chases, Gorrie was in no mood to let the bookies off the hook, and the following Saturday he was on the ball again with 8/1 Scottish Grand National winner, Beshabar.

PJA National Hunt enjoyed three bumper pay-days at Chepstow, thanks to Roalco De Fages, a successful 10/1 advice on 2 April; 8/1 Digital Media, a winning advice on 9 April; and Thelobstercatcher, who was netted at a tasty 14/1 the following week. Pickworth (8/1, Southwell 13 April), Speedy Directa (13/2, Towcester 18 April) and Big Robert (5/1, Hereford, 20 April) all helped to swell the coffers.

Godolphin’s Newmarket maiden winner Ocean War was advised by Insideoutracing at 7/1. The same service were also on the mark with Watch My Back (8/1, Ayr, 15 April).

For the second month in a row, The Ostler’s Racing Club scored with the David Arbuthnot-trained Topolski, who, as already noted, landed the odds at Aintree on the eve of the Grand National. Meanwhile, Gamblers Reunited ended the month with a small profit, thanks to 5/2 Musselburgh victor, Glen’s Diamond.

With roughly a third of the year behind us, PJA All Weather lead the 2011 table with a 92.1 point profit. PJA Flat are second (+34.6), with Gorrie UK, The Ostler’s Racing Club and Personal Info all in hot pursuit.

Great Graphs and Functionality Sign up for free to Besttipping.

Besttipping receive selections from all the tipsters well before the start time of the event. These selections (the same ones they are sending out to their regular subscribers) are later settled against the day's results and entered into the Besttipping database. The result is that we are able to display a complete and accurate (and above all, independently verifiable!) record of how each service is performing over a period of time.

Many tipsters claim impressive track records and in some cases, these results are undoubtedly true. Claims though, are very easy to make and without proper policing and easily understandable analysis it is difficult for the potential customer to subscribe with any real confidence. Besttipping is the only 'Professional' service and is unique in that it offers for free the chance for you to:

  • View results graphically
  • View results by level flat stake (£10, £50 or £100 you decide)
  • View results by points (if the tipster uses this system)
  • View total win value and percentage of winners
  • View results over different periods e.g. 30 days, 90 days, year to date
  • Monitors laying as well as backing services

The importance of long-term subscriptions.

Looking back over the performances of our tipsters since we started collecting data in October 2005, what strikes me most is the incredible consistency shown by the top performers. Not only are the same names who were at the top of our tables in December still at the top, but the amount of profit shown to their clients has increased steadily.

This is not to say though that they will never have negative weeks or even months. In fact they ALL have, and will no doubt have more in the future. The important thing to appreciate when deciding to subscribe to a service is that it has to be a long term investment to be worthwhile. It is true that you may subscribe for a month and be lucky enough to show a huge return, but the consistent and reliable returns are shown over time.

Besttipping is there to identify how tipsters have performed in the past so that you can gauge how they might perform in the future. Having chosen the service you feel offers the best long term value, make a long term commitment and decide on a stake amount which does not overstretch you during the losing periods, while at the same time makes the subscription fee worthwhile.

Best of Luck!!

Besttipping is independently audited by a firm of accountants, to ensure our data is 100% accurate.  Further, the accountants have confirmed that Besttipping proofing procedures are in line with the CAP Help Note on Betting Tipsters.

CAP is the industry facing sister organisation of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).  CAP writes and administers the Code that advertisers (in this case Tipsters) need to comply with and to respond to, consumer complaints about advertisements that fall within the Code's terms of reference.  Besttipping sought advice from CAP when setting procedures for their proofing service and have agreed and put in place a number of procedures in accordance with the CAP Help Note and guidelines for Betting Tipsters.
