Early Price Profits blast century, but Sprint Specialiser are still in front

2019-04-30

A month after posting a disastrous 50-point loss, Early Price Profits resumed winning ways in April in the most resounding fashion with a return of 106.65-points - Bestipping’s best monthly yield in more than eighteen months. Sprint Specialiser enjoyed another fine month; a 46-points yield consolidated their lead at the top of the Besttipping table. Sandbets (19.26-points) and Mark Your Card (7.08-points) finished in third and fourth place, while Daily Bargain, Probets and the two Personal Info services all ended April with profits.

Early Price Profit’s success was down to a steady accumulation, rather than a spectacular splurge. 261 selections were advised with stakes ranging from 1- to 3-points, and the result was a commendable one-in-four strike-rate. Best priced of the 60-odd winners was Day Of Roses, a 12/1 advice at Stratford on 14 April. Midnight Malibu (9/1, Southwell, 17 April) also impressed while seven 8/1 winners added to the coffers.

At the start of April, Early Price Profits languished in bottom place in the 2019 Besttipping Challenge, someway a drift of the field. But, by the month’s end, they had climbed to second spot, just pipping Steve Jones’ Daily Bargain for that honour by less than three points.

April began with a bang for Sprint Specialiser as four of the month’s first 14 selections were successful including 12/1 Mystical Moon (Wolverhampton, 5 April), 16/1 Kyllukey (Chelmsford City, 11 April) and 14/1 Pennsylvania Dutch (Thirsk, 13 April). The month ended on a quieter note, but a return of 46.40-points ensured that the advantage at the head of the table doubled over the course of the month. Sprint Specialiser are now on 151.09-points with the rejuvenated Early Price Profits on 65.37-points and Daily Bargain on 63.25-points.

Also enjoying a welcome return to form in April were Sandbets, whose 19.26-point gain was their best since last September’s table-topping 54-point yield. A 25% strike-rate featured the success of 20/1 advice Muqarred at Southwell (3 April). Four of the following day’s seven selections triumphed, while a run of six winners on the run was achieved (10/11 April).

The Lords Walk (22/1, Leicester, 27 April), Cosmic Ray (20/1, Nottingham, 20 April) and Lac Sacre (12/1, Ffos Las, 7 April) helped Mark Your Card secure a 7.08-point April yield, while Steve Jones’ Daily Bargain navigated his way to a third profitable month of the year thanks to the victory of 14/1 advice Bartholomew Dias (Newcastle, 14 April). This, and two 6/1 winners, added up to a 5-point yield.

Jones’ second service, Probets, made a 2-point April profit thanks to an eight-winner haul. A further eight advices finished second or third; had a couple of those selections found a little more, a handsome profit would have been generated.

Two winning selections, Magical (11/8, Naas, 13 April) and River Bray (4/1, Newton Abbot, 20 April) secured a 17th month of profit out of the last 22 for Personal Info’s Saturday-Only Service. Of the services currently active, The Saturday-Only service are now fourth in the all-time table, which is headed by Mark Your Card. Personal Info’s Mainline Service, second in that listing, were also in the money in April, thanks to a seven-winner harvest (37% strike-rate).
