Bookies Enemy surge to the top

2010-09-25

Lincolnshire-based trainer Stephen Gollings has found a useful summer hurdler in the shape of Russian George. The four-year-old was picking up his third novice hurdle win when prevailing at Stratford on 4 September under champion jockey, Tony McCoy. The gelding jumped clumsily, however, and it took all of McCoy’s encouragement to get the gelding home by a short-head from the Jimmy Derham-ridden Saltagioo. Followers of the Bookies Enemy service will have been grateful for McCoy’s efforts, as Russian George had been one of two selections that day. The other, 11/2 recommendation Cityscape, had already done the business, winning a listed race over a mile at Haydock, half an hour before 3/1 advice Russian George had snatched his hard fought victory.

The result, for Bookies Enemy’s subscribers was a 53.2 point profit on the day, which included a 25 point double. And there was more to come. The next day, Factum obliged at Dundalk, while the month ended on a high with 17/2 advice, Dubara Reef, winning at Chester.

The reward for this fine run by Bookies Enemy is top spot in the Besttipping Tipsters Table for the period from 29 August to 25 September, with an overall profit for the period of 25.6 points.

There was yet another fine showing from PJA’s trio of services. All three posted profits with PJA Flat fairing best, recording a 15 point yield. Winning selections of note included a 10/1 recommendation, Sharaayeen (Newbury, 17 September), 15/2 Music of the Moor (Haydock, 14 September) and two 6/1 advices Rock Anthem (Sandown, 10 September) and Royal Destination (Doncaster, 9 September).

Jump racing took a short break during the middle of the period under review, but PJA National Hunt still managed to extend its lead at the top of the 2010 table, thanks to two successful 8/1 advices: Working Title and Stolen Light. At the time of writing, PJA National Hunt’s yearly profit stands at 124.9 points. Second, some 18 points adrift comes PJA’s All Weather service. Their cause was helped by the victories of two 16/1 advices, Darcey and Vintage.

Gamblers Reunited also posted a healthy profit, which was boosted by three successful 6/1 tips, Astrophysical Jet, Kansia Spirit and Redford.

September started spectacularly for Steve Jones’ Daily Bargain with four winners from six tips – at odds of 3/1, 9/2, 11/2 and 9/4. The Ostler’s Racing Club also posted a profit, thanks to the 9/4 Salisbury victory of Matterofact and Goodwood runner-up Fastback, a 13/1 each-way advice.

Winner finding is always a challenge at this time of year, both on the Flat and over jumps. You can be sure of a number of big priced winners and shock reversals. Given this uncertainty, now is a wise time to follow the experts at Besttipping.

Besttipping receive selections from all the tipsters well before the start time of the event. These selections (the same ones they are sending out to their regular subscribers) are later settled against the day's results and entered into the Besttipping database. The result is that we are able to display a complete and accurate (and above all, independently verifiable!) record of how each service is performing over a period of time.

Many tipsters claim impressive track records and in some cases, these results are undoubtedly true. Claims though, are very easy to make and without proper policing and easily understandable analysis it is difficult for the potential customer to subscribe with any real confidence. Besttipping is the only 'Professional' service and is unique in that it offers for free the chance for you to:

  • View results graphically
  • View results by level flat stake (£10, £50 or £100 you decide)
  • View results by points (if the tipster uses this system)
  • View total win value and percentage of winners
  • View results over different periods e.g. 30 days, 90 days, year to date
  • Monitors laying as well as backing services

The importance of long-term subscriptions.

Looking back over the performances of our tipsters since we started collecting data in October 2005, what strikes me most is the incredible consistency shown by the top performers. Not only are the same names who were at the top of our tables in December still at the top, but the amount of profit shown to their clients has increased steadily.

This is not to say though that they will never have negative weeks or even months. In fact they ALL have, and will no doubt have more in the future. The important thing to appreciate when deciding to subscribe to a service is that it has to be a long term investment to be worthwhile. It is true that you may subscribe for a month and be lucky enough to show a huge return, but the consistent and reliable returns are shown over time.

Besttipping is there to identify how tipsters have performed in the past so that you can gauge how they might perform in the future. Having chosen the service you feel offers the best long term value, make a long term commitment and decide on a stake amount which does not overstretch you during the losing periods, while at the same time makes the subscription fee worthwhile.

Best of Luck!!

Besttipping is independently audited by a firm of accountants, to ensure our data is 100% accurate.  Further, the accountants have confirmed that Besttipping proofing procedures are in line with the CAP Help Note on Betting Tipsters.

CAP is the industry facing sister organisation of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).  CAP writes and administers the Code that advertisers (in this case Tipsters) need to comply with and to respond to, consumer complaints about advertisements that fall within the Code's terms of reference.  Besttipping sought advice from CAP when setting procedures for their proofing service and have agreed and put in place a number of procedures in accordance with the CAP Help Note and guidelines for Betting Tipsters.
