Bookies Enemy Floors Foe at Festival

2010-03-27

Despite the punters nightmare that was the Cheltenham Festival, March proved to be a strong month for a number of tipsters in the Besttipping table.

The four days at Prestbury presented few problems for Bookies Enemy, who ended the meeting with a spectacular 83.8 point profit. The meeting began in brilliant style, with 6 point advice Sizing Europe (6/1) landing the odds in the Arkle. The good work continued on day two with Peddlers Cross (7/1), but the best was left till last as Baby Run (7/1) and Pause And Clause (20/1) were both advised.

The ever reliable Personal Info also showed what was needed to overcome the bookies at the Festival, with two wins from only three advices: Quevega (2/1) and Ballabriggs (9/1). Other winners from Personal Info this month included Paradise Expected (4/1) and Cannington Brook (7/4).

Taking the month as a whole, it was the PJA services that again led the way. Between them the All Weather and National Hunt services produced an 86 point profit. Last month the All Weather branch held sway, but this time around the National Hunt service fared best, producing a near 50 point profit. The highlight was a striking double away from the Cheltenham carnage at Huntingdon on 17 March. Watch Out (8/1) and Ukrainian Star (7/1) were advised in singles and a double. There were a number of other handsome winners including Marodima (15/2), Arctic Wings 8/1, Phoenix Des Mottes (7/1) and a brace at Exeter on 9 March, The Disengager (9/1) and Teeming Rain (10/1).

The All Weather service was hardly dormant. It continued to find winners with impressive regularity, posting a 36.2 point profit for the period under review. Dunstall Park was the venue for the service’s three most profitable winning bets: Mafeking (11/1, 4 March), Cheers For Thea (16/1, 12 March) and Danderek (14/1, 19 March).

A steady succession of good-priced winners helped Insideoutracing post a 35.2 point profit. This fine run which included winners on the all weather, over jumps and in Ireland, began with 8/1 Thebes on 26 February, and continued with the likes of The Burrow Vic (10/1), Raquel White (8/1), Lady Bling Bling (11/1), Guzzle An Go (12/1) and, in a spectacular finale, Master Eddy, a 14/1 Newbury winner of 26 March.

Of the other tipsters in our table, Alex Gorrie enjoyed a fine run towards the end of February with a run of 9 wins from 16 selections between 22nd and 28th of the month. Mathematician found a couple of nice winners, notably, Resplendent Nova, a 15/2 victor at Southwell in late February. Steve Jones Daily Bargain unearthed 9/1 Sign of The Cross, while Gamblers Reunited, was on 6/1 Arkle winner, Sizing Europe.

Great Graphs and Functionality Sign up for free to Besttipping.

Besttipping receive selections from all the tipsters well before the start time of the event. These selections (the same ones they are sending out to their regular subscribers) are later settled against the day's results and entered into the Besttipping database. The result is that we are able to display a complete and accurate (and above all, independently verifiable!) record of how each service is performing over a period of time.

Many tipsters claim impressive track records and in some cases, these results are undoubtedly true. Claims though, are very easy to make and without proper policing and easily understandable analysis it is difficult for the potential customer to subscribe with any real confidence. Besttipping is the only 'Professional' service and is unique in that it offers for free the chance for you to:

  • View results graphically
  • View results by level flat stake (£10, £50 or £100 you decide)
  • View results by points (if the tipster uses this system)
  • View total win value and percentage of winners
  • View results over different periods e.g. 30 days, 90 days, year to date
  • Monitors laying as well as backing services

The importance of long-term subscriptions.

Looking back over the performances of our tipsters since we started collecting data in October 2005, what strikes me most is the incredible consistency shown by the top performers. Not only are the same names who were at the top of our tables in December still at the top, but the amount of profit shown to their clients has increased steadily.

This is not to say though that they will never have negative weeks or even months. In fact they ALL have, and will no doubt have more in the future. The important thing to appreciate when deciding to subscribe to a service is that it has to be a long term investment to be worthwhile. It is true that you may subscribe for a month and be lucky enough to show a huge return, but the consistent and reliable returns are shown over time.

Besttipping is there to identify how tipsters have performed in the past so that you can gauge how they might perform in the future. Having chosen the service you feel offers the best long term value, make a long term commitment and decide on a stake amount which does not overstretch you during the losing periods, while at the same time makes the subscription fee worthwhile.

Best of Luck!!

Besttipping is independently audited by a firm of accountants, to ensure our data is 100% accurate.  Further, the accountants have confirmed that Besttipping proofing procedures are in line with the CAP Help Note on Betting Tipsters.

CAP is the industry facing sister organisation of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).  CAP writes and administers the Code that advertisers (in this case Tipsters) need to comply with and to respond to, consumer complaints about advertisements that fall within the Code's terms of reference.  Besttipping sought advice from CAP when setting procedures for their proofing service and have agreed and put in place a number of procedures in accordance with the CAP Help Note and guidelines for Betting Tipsters.
