Besttipping newcomer hits top spot

2013-02-23

Rightprice Racing, in their second year with Besttipping, moved to the top of the 2013 table with a 26.3 point gain during the four week period under review. This fine effort was spearheaded by the 14/1 success of Hannahs Turn at Southwell on 10 February. Other winners included 17/2 Seamster (Southwell, 12 February), 8/1 Vinetta (Catterick, 11 February), 13/2 Kruzhlinin (Kelso, 14 February) as well as winners at 6/1 and 11/2. The winner ratio was high and the profit was boosted by useful returns on many each way punts.

Old stagers, Isiris, scored a thumping 55.6 point profit, heading the list for this four-week period. Second, on 41 points were CD Systems with PJA National Hunt finishing third (32.7 points) and Right Price fourth. Profits were also recorded by Insideoutracing, Personal Info and debutants Those2oppose.

Filbert, advised at 18/1 by Isiris at Ludlow on 30 January, duly delivered for Philip Hobbs and jockey Richard Johnson, while 12/1 advice Somemothersdohavem secured another Isiris success in a Doncaster juvenile hurdle on 20 February.

Last year’s Besttipping champion, CD Systems, raided the bookies yet again, picking up an impressive six winner haul from just 26 tips during the course of the review period. These included two 10/1 advices, Patriotic (Wolverhampton, 11 February) and Russian Ice (Kempton 14 February) and one at 12/1 – Crew Cut (Kempton, 20 February). However, pride of place belongs to Bailadeira, a 20/1 advice, who scored by a neck in a Wolverhampton sprint on 4 February. CD Systems have now recorded profits in 12 of the last 14 review periods.

PJA National Hunt followed up last month’s useful profit with a much more handsome 32.7 point yield this time around. They also boasted a 20/1 winner – O Crotaigh (Market Rasen, 5 February), while 18/1 scorer Goring One, also ran with the PJA National Hunt stamp of approval at Sandown on 22 February. There were a further seven winners priced between 6 and 10/1.

Insideoutracing continued their steady run, adding 8.3 points to last month’s 17.2 point profit.  The 8/1 advice, Reflect, ensured the month began spectacularly and a three win sequence from five tips from 14 to 16 February (5/2, 3/1 and 13/2) ensured things would end happily.

Only two of Personal Info’s 12 tips this time around failed to make the first three with six winning. The result of this 50% strike-rate was a pleasing profit of 8.2 points. This was the eleventh time since the start of 2012 (14 months) that Personal Info have posted a profit.

This month saw a successful debut for Those2Oppose, whose 11/2 advice Lytham scored at Kempton on 20 February.
