A new year, but no change at the top of the Besttipping leader-board

2011-01-29

A new year, but the story stays the same. PJA All Weather, who topped the 2010 table, are already ahead of the field after another strong month. Gorrie UK were also quick out of the stalls, while Personal Info made a typically robust start to 2011.

In 2010, PJA All Weather accrued 178.9 points during the course of the year. They are already well on the way to bettering that tally as, after just one month the kitty is swollen to the tune of 36.5 points.

Lingfield provided to be a particularly happy hunting ground for PJA All Weather in January. It was the scene of many of the service’s best touches this month, notably Prize Point, a 10/1 advice on 28 January. Other stand-out Polytrack winners included: Rio Royale (6/1), Shared Moment (5/1) Beaubrav (7/1), Picansort (5/1), Edgeworth (5/1), Lockantanks (8/1) and Blue Moon (11/2). Kempton also yielded a bundle of winners including two 8/1 advices, Double Carpet and Hi Spec.

Alex Gorrie began the year in blistering form. The first day of January yielded three winners from four selections. But this was just the start: on 5 January all three advised horses won, a feat that was repeated the following day. With the single selection on 7 January also prevailing, a run of seven successive winners had been posted. The profits continued with four out of six selections winning the next day. The strike-rate during the magical four days was an amazing 80% and the overall monthly profit stood at 19.1 points (or 82.8 points to level stakes).

You can set the town hall clock with the ultra-dependable Personal Info and this month’s tally of eight wins (and six seconds) from fourteen selections ensured yet another profitable month. Since 19 October, 40 selections have yielded 27 winners and a strike-rate of 67.5%.

The Nicky Henderson-trained Bob’s Worth was highlighted as an eve-of-race 4/1 shot by Gamblers Reunited, prior to his impressive two and a quarter length victory at Cheltenham (29 January). Gamblers Reunited thus began 2011 with a monthly profit to add to last year’s tally of almost 80 points.

Steve Jones was also among the winners, with the Lingfield All Weather victors Bravo Echo (13/2) and Nice Style (9/2) leading the way.

With the Cheltenham Festival looming it makes sense to know which tipsters to follow. So check out the next update to see who’s hot for the Festival.

Besttipping is pleased to announce the launch of their new service on the Racing2Day.com international horseracing and betting website.  Racing2Day is a US Pari Mutuel betting site - just like the English Tote system offered by Totesport.com.  It is a legal site, licensed and regulated by the Oregon Racing Commission in the USA.  Besttipping are currently proofing an initial 7 Racing2day handicappers that provide tips and handicap plays on a wide range of US Thoroughbred and Harness Racing via their blog Myr2d.com to the site.  Of course all handicappers / tipsters wagers are securely recorded, validated and proofed by Besttipping USA, with the results independently audited by a North American auditing firm.

Great Graphs and Functionality Sign up for free to Besttipping.

Besttipping receive selections from all the tipsters well before the start time of the event. These selections (the same ones they are sending out to their regular subscribers) are later settled against the day's results and entered into the Besttipping database. The result is that we are able to display a complete and accurate (and above all, independently verifiable!) record of how each service is performing over a period of time.

Many tipsters claim impressive track records and in some cases, these results are undoubtedly true. Claims though, are very easy to make and without proper policing and easily understandable analysis it is difficult for the potential customer to subscribe with any real confidence. Besttipping is the only 'Professional' service and is unique in that it offers for free the chance for you to:

  • View results graphically
  • View results by level flat stake (£10, £50 or £100 you decide)
  • View results by points (if the tipster uses this system)
  • View total win value and percentage of winners
  • View results over different periods e.g. 30 days, 90 days, year to date
  • Monitors laying as well as backing services

The importance of long-term subscriptions.

Looking back over the performances of our tipsters since we started collecting data in October 2005, what strikes me most is the incredible consistency shown by the top performers. Not only are the same names who were at the top of our tables in December still at the top, but the amount of profit shown to their clients has increased steadily.

This is not to say though that they will never have negative weeks or even months. In fact they ALL have, and will no doubt have more in the future. The important thing to appreciate when deciding to subscribe to a service is that it has to be a long term investment to be worthwhile. It is true that you may subscribe for a month and be lucky enough to show a huge return, but the consistent and reliable returns are shown over time.

Besttipping is there to identify how tipsters have performed in the past so that you can gauge how they might perform in the future. Having chosen the service you feel offers the best long term value, make a long term commitment and decide on a stake amount which does not overstretch you during the losing periods, while at the same time makes the subscription fee worthwhile.

Best of Luck!!

Besttipping is independently audited by a firm of accountants, to ensure our data is 100% accurate.  Further, the accountants have confirmed that Besttipping proofing procedures are in line with the CAP Help Note on Betting Tipsters.

CAP is the industry facing sister organisation of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).  CAP writes and administers the Code that advertisers (in this case Tipsters) need to comply with and to respond to, consumer complaints about advertisements that fall within the Code's terms of reference.  Besttipping sought advice from CAP when setting procedures for their proofing service and have agreed and put in place a number of procedures in accordance with the CAP Help Note and guidelines for Betting Tipsters.
