Summertime – and the winning’s easy
The runaway success of the Evan Williams-trained Buailteoir in a novice chase at Stratford on 29 July proved to be the start of a profitable spell by Insideoutracing. Over a five week period, ending on 28 August, they posted a 32.50 point profit, two points clear of PJA’s National Hunt service, which enjoyed another fruitful month.
A 12/1 shot at the off, Buailteoir had been available at 16/1 and it was at this price that followers of Insideoutracing were advised to bet. The Sandown juvenile winner Cai Shen, advised at 14/1, was another spectacular punt, while of the four selections on 16 August, three came out on top, including 7/1 advice Arabian Mirage, the winner of a Wolverhampton sprint under Kieren Fallon.
PJA’s three services all posted healthy profits, with the National Hunt service ending up with a 30.10 point gain. Since the start of 2010, this service has registered a profit in seven out of eight months. This highlight on this occasion was the Bangor handicap hurdle winner, Miss Molly Be Rude, who was earmarked at 10/1 (starting price 11/2). Other stand-out winners included Bermuda Point (7/1), and three 6/1 advices, Barnhill Brownie, Rock Me and Rifleman.
PJA Flat recorded a 25.60 yield – another impressive performance during the busiest phase of the season. Three successful 9/1 advices – Tyfos, Bramalea and Jeannie Galloway – set the standard. Winners were also posted at 8/1 (twice), 13/2 and 6/1 (three times).
With so much action on turf during August, all weather racing has taken something of a backseat. Nevertheless, PJA All Weather has again been on the mark with 15/2 Southwell victor, Calculating, leading the way.
The Ostler’s Racing Club continues to find winners including Rebel Soldier, winner of Glorious Goodwood’s Gordon Stakes, under Ryan Moore.
West End Lad, a 9/1 Nottingham winner, and Pacha Hack, a successful 6/1 advice, helped steer Gamblers Reunited into the black, while Gorrie UK also posted a profit, thanks to a number of successful single and double bets.
Racing on the Flat continues to dominate next month with the St Leger meeting at Doncaster and big meetings at Ayr and Ascot. As for the Besttipping challenge there is still plenty to play for. PJA National Hunt lead narrowly with the other two PJA services close-up, along with Insideoutracing and Personal Info.
